Kym – great shot of the two bee-eaters each with prey. So it’s sad to possibly disillusion you by pointing out that the male bee-eater (the one on the left
of your photo with the longer tail streamers) is in fact holding not a bee but a fly [looks like either a syrphid (hover-fly) or tabanid (March-fly) to me]. The female is indeed holding a bee!
