My first birds of 2013 were a flock of 8 Gang-gangs which landed in a large yellow box.  My first pleasant-sounding species were a pair of Grey Butcherbirds.

On a few occasions at night recently I have heard a long drawn out 'hoot' call.  It sounds rather like the BOCA Powerful Owl (PO) call, but much longer and only a single note.  Any ideas from that poor description?  A resident in the general area from which the call has come thinks they have a PO in the area as they have found Sugar Glider tails!
