I flushed what I believe to be a single Stubble Quail twice this morning at
Mulligans Flat. It was in a large tract of woodland with Joycea understorey.
The bird did not call when flushed with just the sound of wings. It flew far
and low with some evasive maneuvers. Also a Red-necked Wallaby flushed nearby.
Plenty of birdlife around with Shining Bronze-cuckoos calling at three
locations, Speckled Warblers seen at three sites, Superb Parrots near the
entrance gate to the Sanctuary, a Brown Falcon perched in a dead tree in the
far east of the reserve, and several Fairy Martins hawking over the west ridge.
