Quite a common predicament at the swamp. An egret (Great – as shown by the gape) has got a small fish (a gambusia – as shown by the spot) but also a billfull of unwanted twiggy veg. If the bird relaxes its grip there goes the fish. The bird had to let go and take a second grab. 4 GEs this morning, feeding mainly on the gambusia.
