Hi All

Today a gum tree on the Castiaeu end of Northmore Cr dropped a large branch.  Dad and I investigated, and found a greeny-blue egg smashed on the footpath by the tree.  There was also a very messy stick nest in the hollowed out groove of this branch.  It seems this may have been a starling nest.  One would like to think that the gum tree was unhappy with this pest species, and had chosen to drop a branch at the hollow as a form of revenge.

Matt.
