A preliminary report on COG’s 2012 blitz.

A warm thank you to all participants! Thus far, 217 datasheets have been received; 159 bird species have been recorded with 51 of them breeding. Highlights: an Australian Painted Snipe at West Belconnen Pond; a Wonga Pigeon and Cicadabird at Pipeline Rd and several observations of Spotted Quail-thrush.

I’m hoping the folk who haven’t returned their datasheets yet are planning to do so at the November meeting. Otherwise please put them in the post to COG PO Box 301 Civic Square 2608.

A more detailed account of what we found will be in the December Gang-gang and in a subsequent CBN. b
