Even more surprising, falcons are close to mousebirds, and more than that,
penguins are not far diverse from others. I couldn't find any ratites (Emu,
Ostrich, etc) mentioned anywhere, unless under the name Paleognaths, which I
think relates to ancient mouth. Their placement as original divergent
suggests it is.

Practical use of this will be difficult. People won't produce books about
hawks & bee-eaters combined in one volume and falcons and parrots combined
in another.

Thanks for this Tony; fascinating stuff which will take a long time to
digest. But look how far falcons are away from 'other raptors'!
