A Caspian Tern at Yarralumla Bay this morning amongst 20 + bathing Silver Gulls.

Australian Little Bittern Kellys Swamp & Jerrabomberra Wetlands, Fyshwick
Australian Little Bittern (1) Single female Little Bittern foraging in the open opposite Ardea hide in the afternoon sun (as reported on COG)

A male and female White-winged Triler were in a flowering elm in the Jamieson Centre Car Park late this afternoon.

Fri 12 Oct Masked Woodswallow Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve
Masked Woodswallow (8) At 18.35, a small flock of at least 8 Masked & 2 White-browed Woodswallows foraging on the ground & in a small stand of Acacia, approx 500 m in from front gate

Australian Little Bittern Kelly's Swamp & Jerrabomberra Wetlands, Fyshwick
Single male Australian Little Bittern highlighted beautifully by the late afternoon sun on the far side whilst watching the Black Tailed Native Hen. Also saw two adult male Nankeen Night-Herons - one roosting in a willow on the southern side between Tadorna and Fulica hides and a second roosting directly out from Bittern hide but visible only from Ardea hide. These were both "lifers" for me! (Up from Tassie) Moderator comment: The ALB was later identified as a female].
