About a kilometre off the Yass-Wee Jasper Road, not far from the
Junction with Sawyer Gully Road.
We were on a private property as part of the ANU survey. We were driving
along a farm track and had slowed down to bypass a big puddle on the
track; standing in the puddle: a lone Painted Snipe. It stood stock
still while we drove past but was gone when we returned.
While there, we also saw a flock of about 30 woodswallows. They were low
enough to differentiate and were White-browed to Masked in a proportion
of 1:2.
There were dozens of Pelicans on Burrinjuck, which is full.
