Brown Quail have been resident on Cooleman Ridge and Narrabundah Hill over
the past 5 years or so, with up to 10 often regularly flushed, often from what I
once would have thought was unsuitable habitat.
Still it was a surprise when my daughter alerted me to at least 10 on the
inner part of Chauvel Circle this afternoon, and I was able to follow and view
them, usually amongst the bushes, but occasionally on more open ground.
They proved very reluctant to be separated and even more reluctant to fly.
