Hi Rosemary,

Last summer I noticed that lots of superbs would hang around in a few of the trees near platform 1 of the Coen St interchange near the depot.  As you are probably aware, this is rather close to the St Vinnies store.  I saw a few today, and they were in easy flying range of the depot trees.  Judging by this, I'd assume that it is a hotspot for the superbs.  Keep looking around.  I know I will be this Summer.

Matt.

At least seven Superb parrots in a tallish Casuarina (near the former Police Bike Riding Centre and opposite St Vinnies) off Rae Street, Belconnen this morning at 06.20 am. Their presence was noted from their calls and then their mist-bedraggled shapes  were spotted, bodies fluffed up against the cold.
A possible roost tree?

Rosemary
