Knowing how interested chatliners are in our local landscape I offer this snap taken from Mt Pleasant yesterday showing operations on a corner of the Molonglo behind Fyshwick.  The waterskiers ramp can be seen, with turf farm in foreground.  The riverine veg was mainly exotics with a tangle of willows, blackberries, alder etc   -  the local blackbird headquarters.  It will be interesting to see what appears in its place.  As to the landscaping technique:  do not try this in your backyard, however overgrown.
