Both Banded Lapwings still present at about 2 pm today. The non-brooding bird did a very good fly past calling loudly and the brooding bird was very obligingly facing towards us. Thanks to Geoffrey for very detailed instructions: I thought they were idiot proof. Unfortunately, my parents made a better idiot. On arrival at the airport fence we spotted 2 Lapwings about halfway along the COSTCO building and rushed off to inspect their yellow masks. We then proceeded further and only on getting to the Big W building did we look back and see the fenced pit some 300m behind us. This pit and concrete square are right on the end of the Costco building near Jim Murphy's.
