Strange nest any suggestions

Yesterday I found this nest on my property in this large Brittle gum its four meters off the ground made of sticks all as thicker then pencils and as long as my forearm. The top of the nest had old gum leaves and bits of roots from surrounding tussocks, it was around half a meter across but the actual cup was the size of a large dinner plate. Surrounding the nest on the ground where lots of lyre bird scratches which i assumed at first had made it but it seems to high up and is not a dome nest like lyre birds make but a bowl nest like a raptor but to small for a wedge tail. 

If any body has any ideas I would love to know from what i can see it is no longer active, If anybody has seen a lyre bird nest as well are they ever bowl nests like this one ?
