It could probably be described as a good season for
BSKs as I counted 6, all hovering, while
travelling the Hume/Federal Highways between Sutton Forest and Lake
George yesterday, along with a Nankeen Kestrel and another raptor, possibly
a Little Eagle. Like Dennis, I didn't have time to stop at Rowes Lagoon but
a quick glance revealed quite a few birds, species unknown, on the surface of
the water. Also seen were a Pacific Heron near Lake George and 4
Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos just north of Goulburn. Last week similar
numbers of BSKs were sighted along the Kings Highway between Braidwood and
Queanbeyan.
