Sandra, interesting about the Common Bronzewings, a couple of days ago I travelled past the SFP and 8 birds flew across the road, turned round and then headed back to SFP.

haven't been to SFP for a while. It's very noisy at present - roadworks, housing development, and some earthmoving near the carpark, so I wasn't optimistic! However, the pipits were out in force between the grandstand and dam (I counted 7, but there could have been more), and other highlights included 8 white-fronted chats, 5 double-barred finches, a very large group of red-browed finches, and superb fairy wrens everywhere. Flushed a common bronzewing, which I'd not seen there before. The finches were over towards the fire memorial, the chats near open grassy area in front of the grandstand, close to the pipits. The flowering plants near fire memorial also had eastern spinebills and new holland honeyeaters.  Brown and yellow-rumped thornbills also present in good numbers
