Erika,

I don't think there is anyone in Canberra but I have had mine previous one(s) repaired at a shop in Sydney and Melbourne. The word is "collimated".

Subject: [canberrabirds] Binocular repairs

Hello,

I have a question about binocular repairs and maintenance.
I bought my binocs in the US, and while they have a lifetime warranty this means that I have to post them back to the US to get them repaired. Right now they are playing up (I think they need to be realigned), and the cover of the focus knob (that makes it easier to turn the knob) has disappeared. I thought it might have fallen off in my car, but it is nowhere to be found. They are Eagle Optics brand.
I just wanted to ask if there is anywhere in the Canberra region that services and repairs binoculars, and if anyone has any idea how much it might cost to get them realigned (the missing knob cover I can live without). If it is on par with the cost of shipping them back to the States (and probably return shipping as well) then it will be much easier and quicker to get them fixed here.

Thanks!

Erika
