That is good news.  However, I am intrigued about the Ranger's power to enforce action and to issue fines.  In the recent past (probably within 2 years) when I have reported antisocial activities to  Canberra Nature Park I have been told that their Rangers do not have the power to kick people out of the area (eg those riding trail bikes) or issue fines.  This was a matter for the police (and they generally put a low priority on such matters).  I'd appreciate it if someone could clarify this.

For those who read the item and seen the photo posted by Robin Eckerman on Sunday 3rd June on the dumping of rubbish at the Jerrabomberra Wetlands, I have been informed that the Ranger based at the Wetlands has followed up on this issue.  An examination of the rubbish provided names and addresses which have subsequently been followed up.  The people concerned  stated on four separate occasions they would remove the rubbish This did not occur so the rubbish has now been removed by the Ranger and the culprits issued with fines.  If the fines are not paid the case will  go to court.  I believe we all have a debt of gratitude to the Ranger for acting so quickly and decisively on this most disappointing issue.
