Hi Erika,

Absolutely, they have migrated INTO our area for the winter, as happens every year. Or that applies to Canberra. As shown in The GBS Report (and as shown in Martin's updated graph, although note that he shows year as Jan to Dec, so is reversed in time from The GBS Report and the GBS calendar). In your area, they well be a bit less seasonal than in Canberra.

Thanks Geoff and whoever did that graph from Weddin Mountains banding site but I wonder how can someone interpret that graph? Assuming month 1 is January etc, that appears to show Autumn peak as mentioned and that is about all I can get from it. That may just represent local flowering or that is when birds are moving through and thus easier to catch, rather than staying around. But more to the point, what is the denominator on that graph? It may just reflect trapping effort by month or may not, I have no idea (most likely not to the extent shown). Also top to bottom of Weddin Mountains is not quite the same as ACT bird migrations.

There was a white-eared honeyeater in my yard this afternoon (Bungendore). It appeared to be feeding, possibly on a huge lavender bush that we have.

I'm just wondering, would it be expected that the honeyeaters have migrated by now?
