Hi all. I went birding with my dad around the two Dunlop ponds (Fassifern and Jaramlee) this arvo. We saw a swan with their four cygnets approach us, only to be fed by another family. The ponds had many cootes, pacific black ducks, purple swamphens, moorhens and a few Australasian grebes. As always, there was a little pied cormorant on its favorite perch at Jaramlee pond. The most exciting sighting were two Richard's pipits, and a golden-headed cistacola. He was on the fence surrounded by long grass between the two ponds. Dad thinks there may have been another one somewhere nearby. Regards, Matt. |
