G'day David,
I agree it is most likely a juvenile White-throated Gerygone but it could
also be a juvenile Western Gerygone although it is probably too yellow to be
that species. As far as I am aware most, if not all as I haven't seen
juveniles of all Gerygone species, have a fair amount of yellow in their
plumage. We banded a young White-throated Gerygone at Charcoal Tank in July
last year that had many of the newer members of banding team bamboozled!

Today I photographed an obviously juvenile bird which I initially thought
was a Yellow Thornbill (click on the link below), but the more I look at it
the less convinced I am. I think it may be a juvvy White-throated Gerygone.
Any ideas?
