Despite the wind, Shepherds Lookout was interesting this morning. Surprisingly no finches at all – and they are usually so reliable there. But was delighted to hear the “prrt prrt” of two rather late Rainbow Bee-eaters and watched them consuming not bees but butterflies. Other passage migrants were Rufous Whistlers, good numbers of Grey Fantails and a Fan-tailed Cuckoo. Was also delighted to see a female Red-capped Robin as well as the more expected Scarlet Robin pair. Plus the usual Golden Whistlers, Speckled Warblers, and most of the thornbills. b
