Seems you are the only dual purpose watcher tonight. Up at the top of 4 Jardine St, Kingston watching the helicopters over Lake Burley Griffin, prior to the Roulettes arrival, when an adult Peregrine Falcon flew by with Noisy Miner prey. Alit on 9 Jardine St (the tower closer to the lake) and sat on the bird for several minutes. Once the Roulettes started their runs back and forth, the falcon started to tear its prey apart. I have come down off the roof, the Roulettes are gone but the Peregrine is still dining. Even the guns being fired to signal the end of military activities don’t seem to phase it!

Was just outside in the park watching around a dozen White-throated Needletails zooming around overhead when the RAAF Roulettes cruised by in formation. I let you guess which I was following with the binos. No contest really...
