Speckled Warbler nest building?

This begs the question, do speckled warblers breed in late summer/early autumn, or does late summer rain confuse them?  I saw the same thing on Callum Brae on 2nd April 2010 after heavy rain a few days earlier.

Yesterday at Shepards Lookout, a pair of Speckled Warblers appeared to be gathering nesting material (photo attached).
