Through my front garden in Page this morning, begging steadily though not particularly loudly and fed by Red Wattlebirds, who also protected it from Pied Currawong and, oddly, a pair of gang-gangs. This relatively late arrival ties in nicely with the later arrival of the adult koels in the suburb this year (early Nov). The adult male is still hanging around and calling sporadically – waiting to escort junior north, I wonder?  b
