Curiosity finally got the better of me, and with regular reports of
Superb Parrots at the AIS carpark, I decided to see if I could get a
glimpse. Not difficult - they were abundant. However, it was a lousy
day for photography with a glary white sky ... and the propensity of
the birds to forage in the topmost foliage of the trees made getting
any good photos difficult. It was easiest to spot the young ...

... they tended to remain in what seemed to be "nursery trees" whilst
the parents foraged more widely, returning occasionally to feed the
young. Feeding seemed to involve a fair bit of head movement before
transferring food to the young - presumbably involving regurgitation.
Hopefully this colourful species will continue their spread Eastward
and eventually grace my "home territory".
