Hi. I observed this species yesterday on the Moulamein - Hay (NSW)
road. I note that Birdline NSW
http://www.eremaea.com/BirdlineSpeciesArchive.aspx?Taxon=1402 has a
Sept 2011 record of the species from Lake George (the spelling
errors are the observer's, not mine):
09/13/2011
Austrailian Pratincole, Blue-billed Duck, Little Eagle
Lake George near Canberra
Three Australian Paratincoles in the short, patchy grass near
edges of the south-west part of the lake (from the Lake Rd). A
little Eagle was perching on the gum tree near Lake Rd. A Swamp
Harrier was chasing ducks (mostly Grey Teals - 3000+) . There was
one Blue-billed Duck, 8 A Pelicans and few Hardhead among them.
Small flock of Red-capped Plovers (32 birds) were feeding on the
water edge

According to COG's Rarities Panel list of
unusual birds http://canberrabirds.org.au/Unusuals.htm the most
recent endorsed record for this species in COG's area of concern
is from 1991.
