After a heads up from Kim Mckenzie I was able to see, briefly, a Spotted Harrier hunting over the Northern end of the Plain, along Briars Sharrow Rd this afternoon. It Headed off in the general direction of Captains Flat. Harvey Perkins reported seeing a member of this species in the Southern part of the Plain in January 2011. Interestingly no-one has reported a Swamp Harrier here in the 5 years I have been recording. Martin |
