Normally yes and daytime. This has been described: Maller, C.J. & Jones,
D.N. 2001, 'Vocal behaviour of the Common Koel Eudynamys scolopacea, and
implications for mating systems', Emu 101: 105-112.

Heard one calling just now (11.20 pm, western end of Deakin).  Amazingly I
had not heard one here before (day or night).
