washing. The magpie family moved into her garden when 'their' tree over the 
road was removed. She says they are there all the time and often do this while 
she watches from the house. They like it best when it's windy and the clothes 
flap enticingly.

I saw some magpies doing the same thing with the webbing strung between some
tree stakes at Fairbairn. At first I thought they trying to take the webbing to use as nest lining, but it seemed to be a game. From memory, it was windy that day too.
