Ah yes, Geoff Jones is an unbelievable photographer and has put much effort into developing his website, travelling to the US for the purpose. Coincidentally, when I met him at Werribee about 3 years ago, just the day before he had been photographing the famous Painted-snipe at Edithvale Swamp, sitting on the roof of his Land Cruiser and snapping over the fence.

'Freshly returned from Jerilderie, Geoffrey Jones of Barra Imaging captured this unique shot of an amazing number of Australian Painted Snipe. One of Australia’s rarest waders and long-suffering from ten years of drought, these stunning images signal a return to normal for the Australian outback. Australian Painted Snipe are appearing in numbers throughout southern Australia at the moment. Better check your local wetland!!'
