On Sunday morning 30 October on Urambi Hills I watched what appeared likely as a family of BFCS at with adults and juveniles. Over about 30 minutes there was no sign that the adults were feeding the young birds, so I guessed them to be already independent.

Survived an attack from the Callum Brae Brown Goshawk this arvo!

Bit quiet there. One interesting sighting was a fully independent immature BFCS. Presumably this indicates mid-winter breeding. Nearby an adult pair looked like they were getting ready to breed again (courtship displays).
