Yes
your ID is right. Does the habitat "near my place at Currawang" include some
preferably wet and maybe swampy long grass. That would fit. Have a look for live
ones. Or listen out for their buzz zit calls.

This poor, beautiful, little creature looks rather like Julian Robinson's
photo second to last in the COG photo gallery for golden-headed
cisticola. Could this be so? Found in the middle of the road near my
place at Currawang, rather the worse for wear, I'm afraid. Fits size
descriptions.
