Last week I took off for a little drive northwards, mainly to spend a few days with friends near Dorrigo.  First stop was at the Cockburn River, near Kootingal, the only campsite that my guide showed along that stretch of the New England Highway.  Something of a challenge to actually find it though.  Below is a sample from an hour’s snapping in the morning,  Little Lorikeets “IH”.  Restless Flys nest-building in the river oaks.  I’ve recently come across a lot of Stripeys active and vocal at various places.  Given Nicki’s report from nearby, we could see the species in Canberra this year.
