Yesterday afternoon we walked from the Tin Hut carpark northwards
past the dam to another small dam just off the main track (less than
1km away up a slight rise).
A bird caught my eye flying off a large dead tree near the dam and
"woodswallow" was the instant thought from size and habit of flying.
I was looking at it up-sun with binos (a bit dazzled), and the head
colour contrast made me revise to Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike though
it seemed too small for a BfCS (but I've never seen/recognised a
Masked Woodswallow). I manoevred along the dam wall and got this
poor photo:
Any suggestions/advice welcome!
