Yesterday afternoon we walked from the Tin Hut carpark northwards past the dam to another small dam just off the main track (less than 1km away up a slight rise).

A bird caught my eye flying off a large dead tree near the dam and "woodswallow" was the instant thought from size and habit of flying. I was looking at it up-sun with binos (a bit dazzled), and the head colour contrast made me revise to Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike though it seemed too small for a BfCS (but I've never seen/recognised a Masked Woodswallow). I manoevred along the dam wall and got this poor photo:
