Didn’t see your spotless crake, Scott, but did see a pair of chestnut teal in that little depression/puddle beside the cycle track early in the morning.  Sydney visitor  with me saw a black-faced cuckoo shrike.  Could also hear the faint plaintiff call of a little grassbird.  The tree-cutting gang may have frightened off a few birds from the area near the car park.

Night herons were in situ, very much so, not wanting to be photographed.

A single Spotless Crake watched for about 10 minutes foraging in bullrush near Bittern Hide
