Belconnen is being blessed with these beautiful birds at the
moment. Just after nine this morning, three, then 26, streamed over my garden
in Page, calling and heading SW. I promptly dropped the domestic chores and
pursued them. Checked out all the known locations: Hawker ovals; Hawker college
grounds; Hawker Primary School; the Pinnacle – to no
avail. I suspect they went on further towards the Molonglo – or? Six more
over the garden, heading in the same direction, a few minutes ago. The trip to
the Pinnacle threw up something of interest though – copulating kestrels.
And fairly direct and no-nonsense he was about it, too. And a maggie was
shredding yet another mouse. b
