G'day,

A good afternoon for a walk around Umbagong District Park. Lots of birds out and about including a flock of about 30 European Goldfinches. Highlight was a single Buff-banded Rail in Ginninderra Creek. It was near where the large water (?) pipe passes over the creek to east of Florey Drive. It was foraging on the Latham side of the creek. When we got home (near Goodwin Hill) a flock of 50 plus Straw-necked Ibis flew over low enough you could hear their wing beats. They were heading from east to west, about 3 pm.
