American author Jonathan Franzen is coming to Canberra for a Canberra
Times/NLA ‘literary event’ on Wednesday 14 September.
He said when he was interviewed on Fran Kelly’s ABC RN ‘Breakfast’ that he
was a keen birdwatcher, and hoped to do some birdwatching at his various stops
in Australia (he’s currently at the Victorian writers’ festival, I think).
(Birds and bird-watching appear in his novels ...)
It would be a pity if he came to Canberra and no-one was able to help him
find at least some Gang Gangs ....
I assume that Gia Metherell, CT literary editor, would be the appropriate
contact ... (
