Without a doubt, black-faced cuckoo shrikes can be heard.  I may have heard the hobby in the distance, but that is a ? hearing.

Wood duck and eastern rosella were sitting happily side by side on the same dead bit of tree when sulphur-crested cocky came and sent the wood duck packing.  WD and SCC then perched in adjacent trees for some time, neither returning to the original hollow branch.  I guess rivalry for nesting hollows depends on the size of the hollow you are after.  Neither of the big birds minded the little rosella going about its busin

 

The extent to which the starlings are invading “Parrotville”, that first section of Callum Brae between the main track and the fence on the east, is of real concern.

 

A huge party of walkers arrived just as I was packing up to leave.  About 30 cars at the gate.
