There are various possibilities, Jean, so I think we would need to see the tree or the berries.  Typically GGs are seedeaters and split the fruit to extract the seed, discarding the remainder

I viewed the birds early this morning across 100 metres through bins but could not tell if they were feeding on the berries.  The tree has leaves a bit like a Hawthorn, and is planted as a Street tree in a few places in Duffy.  Does anyone know what the name of the tree is or if Gang Gangs enjoy the fruit?

Jean
