At Tharwa Sandwash this afternoon I was delighted to see Hooded Robin, Brown Treecreeper, Speckled Warbler and Diamond Firetail, all close together and amongst many other more common smaller birds.  This is the first time that I've seen these four together in the ACT.  Since I was last at Tharwa Sandwash, the government has upgraded the facilities by enlarging the existing car park, installing six picnic tables and building stair access to the river.  On the other side of the river, opposite the government improvements, there were two Common Wombats getting on with their own earth-moving improvements to their dwellings.

Kind regards

Matthew Frawley
