Fantastic.  A win for both common sense and the symbol of conservation in the ACT.

Subject: [canberrabirds] Gang-gang logo to be retained

Hi,

I have just returned from a morning of tree planting for the Glossy Black-Cockatoo on World Environment Day.  A most successful morning, well organised by Greening Australia and Park, Conservation and Lands.

The Minister for the Environment, Simon Corbell was there and in his presentation he announced that the Gang-gang logo would be retained.

This is excellent news.  He mentioned to me afterwards that there had been a large public outcry and given the logo was a brand that was so well recognised it had been decided to retain the logo as is.

Well done to all those who came to the rescue of the Gang-gang and this shows what can be done with public support.

Chris
