Callocephalon not on

Many Canberrans have on their shelves a copy of Forshaw and Cooper’s ‘Australian Parrots’ (one edition or other), so it was a bird moment of some significance when Bill Cooper was in town yesterday asking Joe to help him renew acquaintance with the Gang-gang, as so many north Queensland residents like to do.  After all, he is the creator of the COG logo.   So after a check that the birds were about it was off to Gang-gang C*ntr*l, where a scout around the block brought to light, of all things, a modest YRT-based (but gang-gangless) MFF in someone’s front garden.  Unfortunately the later than planned start meant that there was pretty well a complete absence of GGs at the time.  This did not stop me trying to generate some kind of graphic to record the event.  Barbara will remember that a few years ago we had a similarly acallocephalonic day during the visit of David Bird of the ‘Bird Almanac’, so perhaps these chaps just don’t like the pressure of having to perform on the big occasion.
