As I drove into Hoskinstown this morning I was surprised to see 12 Green Satin Bowerbirds fly across the road.  They appeared to be feeding in hawthorn trees.

After a peer into Foxlow lagoon - even with my scope the only birds of interest were a family party of Black Swans (this is the only site in the area where they are found to my knowledge) - I headed on towards the Foxlow Bridge and was astonished to see a female Musk Duck swimming around in a small farm dam.
