Members may be interested to know that the works to repair the
large dam wall will be underway by mid May and expected to be completed by end
of June. I have been advised that procedures are in place to ensure there
is minimal impact from the large machinery needed; they will remain on site for
the construction and will be inspected for weeds etc before coming
in.
This is very good news - COG has lobbied for this for a number
of years; hopefully restoration of the wetland can occur and this will
be a thriving bird habitat again.
