Install a pair of Tawny Frogmouths and wait! "My' pair of froggies had been unfound for a couple of days. So I was following a mixed flock of thornbills (about 30 YRTB and 20 BRTB) and other odds and ends (eg Speckled warbler) when the flock suddenly went ballistic. Many alarm calls and various other species (Grey-shrike thrush, White-eared Honeyeater) joined in mobbing the pair of Tawny Frogmouths roosting in a spot where I have never previously located them. Rather nice. Then all the Magpies, Currawongs and Rosellas in most of the Shire went ballistic. A very tatty (see attached) Wedge-tailed Eagle hove into view, but too far up to actually get attacked! Photo taken on 24x zoom and very significantly cropped - my blood pressure must have been in good shape this morning! Martin Attachment:
