It took a couple of days to confirm it, as I thought I had been hearing the occasional squeak of a Swift Parrot but was never able to find the source, until today at lunchtime when one gave enough alarm calls for me to get outside in time to see it flying rapidly overhead (Wybalena Grove Cook). I suspect it has been feeding in the lerp-ridden Red Box keeping a very low profile to avoid the attention of the numerous Red Wattlebirds. There were 2 Swifties here a month ago so there may well be more than one.

The Red Box are looking particularly tatty at the moment from the lerp-onslaught, so it is relatively easy to see any birds in the canopy, however there are quite a few of these trees scattered around Wybalena Grove and it's hard to search them all for silently feeding birds. It may be worth checking out Red Box in other localities, eg. Newline.
