The Restless Flycatcher has what looks to me might be a eurymelid bug.

Well Peter  -  I’d say you’re right about the European Wasp.  Adult DWS, I’d say.   I am not sure what the Restless Flycatcher had hold of  -  squat, dark brown wings with 2 cream spots and a bright pink abdomen with a dark tip.  The WPHEs appeared to be attacking the stems at the junctions  -  no obvious insects, perhaps aphids or some kind of exudate.  G

Hi Geoffrey,

Did you see what the White-plumed Honey-eaters were eating on the Tall Fleabane? Were there any insect on it? HANZAB says WPHE are known to eat seed very occasionally.

The insect in the Dusky Woodswallow's bill looks lika a European Wasp. I used to like DWs, I like them even more now.  Is it a juvenile DW?

Does anyone know what the (Satin?) Flycatcher has in it's bill?

Lovely photos.  Thanks Geoffrey.

Peter
