In my opinion, the big wet last summer saw an increase in the number and distribution of fairy wrens on Callum Brae.  Just last week I was walking with family and we disturbed a whole family of wrens near the westernmost dam.  I went back this morning to take some photos, and not a wren to be seen or heard anywhere near the dam or in the rushes in the creek bed downstream.  It is still pretty damp there, and I was surprised they had gone.  Are SFW a sedentary species, or do they roam over a larger area?

Perhaps they got eaten by the spider... she’s just about as big as a wren.
